Sunday 19th April 2009. Under 23 Herbalife/Wheelbase ride Calum Nicholson won todays 5 circuit race in Lancashire. Team Herbalife/Wheelbase also gained 4th, 6th and 7th positions with Andy Hawdon, Jonny Knox, and Dylan Byrne respectively.

After gaining an early break of 5 riders, Andy and Calum pushed the pace throughout the whole race. Ashley Finn came within 40 seconds of joining the lead group when his chain unfortunately snapped on the Sunny Bank climb. This was bad luck as he was looking super strong at the point.

On the final climb, Andy lead the group with nobody willing to come past to help the pace. This exertion allowed Calum to be lead out approaching the final 200 metres. His power allowed him to take the win and afford the team a good day out.

Great teamwork from all the guys and a superb 1st win of the season for Calum.
